You can order your ships to move to another planetary system through a link.

First, click an "Issue Ship Command" link
or the "Issue Ship Commands" link on the planet summary page.
This will bring up a very similar page with a grey orders panel
below the planet information.
Decide how many ships to send by entering the number in the text boxes just below the "Ship Commands" title in the grey command panel.
Tell your ships where to go by selecting the correct hyperspace link to the right of "Move to" in the grey orders panel.
Then, press the Move button.
It will take several turns for your ships to reach their destination.
The exact number of turns depends on the link you have selected.
Due to their inherent instability, links decay over time.
You can shore up a link somewhat by using it regularly.
If you have ships in a link when it collapses, they will still make it to their original destination.
However, you will probably not be able to reinforce them!
